The 19th BuildExpo Africa 2016 kicks off on 6th May 2016 at The Dome, Carnivore, Nairobi, Kenya.
Billed as Africa’s Mega Building & Construction Event, this showcase fest will feature visitors from 22 nations and 40 exhibitors, among them the best players in the infrastructure sector.
BuildExpo Africa is unique in that it features a diverse array of modern building technology, which include construction materials, mining and construction equipment, besides other high performance equipment.
The three day event will attract over fourteen million prospects and will also feature upwards of 10,000 merchandises, heavy equipment and top-of-the-range machines that will be exhibited across an area measuring 10,000 sq.m.
The 2015 event saw participation from India, China, Germany, Turkey, Malaysia, and Italy.
This yearly event has evolved over the years to encompass interest from beyond Kenya and into the entire East African region. It is therefore a very appropriate forum for international investors seeking to expose their products to the massive African market.
Among the regional visitors expected at the 2016 BuildExpo include players from Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Somalia, Uganda, and Mozambique. Although the event will be held in Kenya, one of the regions’ largest players, the Expo is geared towards attracting other players, e.g. importers and traders from Kenya’s neighbors as well.
A World Bank report highlights infrastructure as a catalyst to igniting and sustaining the growth of Africa’s economy. Kenya leads the way in the development and redevelopment of infrastructure and has designated economic areas for residential and commercial construction, among them tourist resorts and resort cities.
The net-worth of Kenya’s construction and infrastructure sector is set to double during the 2016 to 2020 period. This projection has already resulted in an increase in the demand for construction materials and equipment.
